Where was I born???

Well I found out today after some research that I may not have been born in Miami, Florida as first thought. My BC has a code number on it 11-XXX, I know the first 2 digits are the county code, and since Miami is 23-XXX I now believe I was born in Alachua County which is in Gainesville, Fl. I am still not sure what the three digits following the county are for, so the search goes on.

I am starting this blog not only to write about my life after adoption, but to also connect to others. If I find any birth family through this network, I will then feel whole.

My name is Randy, I was born in Miami, Florida on August 26, 1947 at least this is what my birth certificate reads. I was adopted by a couple from Hollywood shortly after my birth. When the time came to come for me, a nurse apparently approached my parents and told them about a baby girl that was born August 25, 1947 and would they be

interested in her as well.

They discussed it and instead of taking one baby home they took two.

I was told that a social worker came by a few times and that was it.

Now as loving as my parents were, my Adoptive mother wanted everyone to think we were twins, so that is what we grew up believing.

For some reason or another my sister needed her birth certificate for something when she was a teenager and realized then that not only was she not my biological sister, she was certainly not my twin. My mother swore her to the secrecy and I didn't find out until I was in my 30's.

I do not blame my sister for this, she had no way of controlling a dysfunctional parent.

Both of our BC are basically identical, there is no hospital or doctor listed just our adoptive parents names. I also have another BC that gives my adoptive parents as my birth parents as well as a tag from a nursery in Edgewater Hospital - Miami Florida, my birth weight and time. I have been searching for this hospital, but have not had any luck.

My birth name was BORIN, my sisters was MALICH, this and what we were told about our birth mothers both being unwed and 19 is all we have to go on.

With the help of my wife, I am registered on just about every website pertaining to adoption including black market adoptions. I have just started my search and have requested a non-id from the state of Florida. If there is something there, I am hoping it will answer a few questions.
